    Purple. Blue. Orange. White.

The colors went into a specific order, each aligned with their appropriate hue. Long ago she was told not to fret about the unending variation in color, and to merely think of each as part of a wider family. A simple solution to what could have led to a larger problem. Each color grouped with another, instead of bouncing about aimlessly inside of her head at a frenetic pace.

Her fingers were smudged now, the pad of each tip dipped into a brilliant chroma of chalk. She liked it this way. Sometimes she saw herself as an unending white canvas, just begging to be colored. How strange it would be to be something other than pale. Once, she had tried to remedy this. Smearing the many different colors all over her skin until she was a walking light spectrum, presenting herself as a delightful little parcel to be unwrapped by her mother. The only parts that lacked color were the whites of her eyes and the gleam of her teeth, bare from a simple smile of accomplishment.

Later, as the muddled hues melted off with water into a large porcelain cleansing bowl, she reflected that the next time she wanted to be colorful, all she had to do was upset her mother. She could still feel the sting across her cheekbone even though the hand had long past left. As much as she tried, she couldn’t remember the words now. Something about normalcy, but that didn’t make sense. She wasn’t normal. She wasn’t her sister--all reds and peaches and smiles. She was only herself. A canvas waiting to be painted on.
    • Accepted! Be sure to make a journal for the character, join the community and add everyone (I should have the friends button up by tomorrow at least, so it should be easy). Your first post should show your character coming into the universe of the RP. You can look at other members' first posts for examples of how to do this.
